Donald practiced law for ten years with corporations and law firms in Fort Worth and Tyler, Texas. He specialized in business, banking, and insurance litigation. His clients included several Fortune 500 companies: American Standard, BorgWarner, and SBC Communications. His law practice focused on the following areas of expertise:

Donald has over six years of experience with the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award process. He currently serves on the 2009 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Board of Examiners. He is a trainer and instructor with the Quality Texas Foundation, and a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Texas Center for Performance Excellence. Donald's focus in the Baldrige process is improving the performance of all types of organizations--government, non-profit, manufacturing, education, service, and health care. His Baldrige experience includes: training others in the use of Baldrige Criteria, developing curriculum for online Baldrige training modules, editing a best-selling Baldrige book, writing an award winning application, serving as team leader and examiner, writing and editing feedback reports, serving on site visit teams, and sponsoring Baldrige events.

Donald earned a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Baylor University, a Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law, and a Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He is a member of the American Society for Quality, the American Management Association, the State Bar of Texas, and the Quality Texas Foundation. Donald is happily married and has two children.
