Georgia Attorney Disciplined for Submitting Fake Bills to Clients

A member of the Georgia State Bar who had billed clients for services supposedly performed by a private investigator and a title examiner, but had deposited the funds into his personal account, made restitution of some $500,000 and agreed to have his law license suspended from 6 months to a year. In this opinion, the Justices of the Georgia Supreme Court voted that a 6 to 12 months suspension is too light, considering the fraudulent conduct committed. Source: www.abajournal.com.
