California Supreme Court decision re Episcopal Church Cases

In this 2009 decision, the California Supreme Court held that although the deed of a church building was in the name of a local parish, the parish held the property in trust for the larger Episcopal Church, and hence when the local parish 'disaffiliated from the general church, the local church did not have the right to take the church property with it.'
