Federal Judge Bans Sending Tweets from Courtroom

Judge Clay D. Lands, presiding over a criminal trial in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, has issued an order banning reporters from transmitting 'tweets' from the courtroom, because Rule 53 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure prohibits 'the broadcasting of judicial proceedings from the courtroom.'
