The US Drug Watchdog Initiates a National Investigation of a Nasal Spray Called Zicam According to the US Drug Watchdog, "on June 16th 2009, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration advised consumers to stop using products marketed over-the-counter as cold remedies because they are associated with the loss of sense of smell (anosmia). Anosmia may be long-lasting or permanent. The products include: Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Gel, Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs and Zicam Cold Remedy Swabs, Kids Size (a discontinued product)."
