California Family Law Attorney Issues Statement on Supreme Court Proposition 8 Ruling The California Supreme Court has held that Proposition 8 was a valid amendment and a permissible change to the California constitution, enacted by 52.3% of the majority vote. The Court also upheld approximately 18,00 same-sex marriages already performed in California.
