My Colleges and Careers Helps Students Living in Metropolitan Areas with High Unemployment Rates Ear
The U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics recently released data related to metropolitan area unemployment rates. Of the 372 metropolitan areas surveyed in June, 224 had a lowered unemployment rate compared with June 2010, while 127 areas were higher, and 21 remained the same. There were 12 metropolitan areas that had unemployment of at least 15 percent, well above the current U.S. average of 9.1 percent.
