Strauss vs. Horton - CA High Court Upholds Prop 8
California Supreme Court upholds Prop 8, which outlawed same-sex marriage in Calfiornia, but upheld the validity of 18,000 same-sex marriages that occurred before Prop 8 went into effect. Chief Justice Ronald George wrote the opinion in a 6-1 decision.
