Laid Off Worker Finds Niche in Diversity Publications When Lou Acosta was laid off on Sept.1, 2006 he wasn’t sure what his future would be. Lou had spent 8 years working at his job, he volunteered on various advisory boards and eventhough he was approved and started receiving unemployment benefits, the State of Ohio sent him a letter demanding him to return the money.
