In a criminal justice trial, the defense team could utilize various strategies to sway the jury. Legal defenses such as mistaken identity, false accusations, having an alibi, or being under some type of duress or imminent risk of harm can make a serious impact on a case and result in reduced or dismissed charges. Having a thorough understanding and executing of these legal practices can make a huge difference in a case. In this article, Brian Joslyn from the Joslyn Law Firm discusses these various legal defenses, what they entail and when it may be beneficial to use these strategies.

Along with basic criminal defense strategies—and tantamount to a viable defense—is the ability of every criminal defense attorney to conduct discovery on behalf of clients. In the state of Ohio, the general provisions and scope of discovery is governed by ORC 4901-1-16.
